BRUNCH!!

By far one of my favorite things to do! I just love the feeling of a Sunday morning – or, as for me, any morning because who said brunch is only for Sundays ;P – going to a cute café, meeting with friends eating a nice breakfast and just having a good time!

And I wasn’t planning on skipping these moments when going to Paris. So, prepared and organized as I am, – who am I kidding here :D - I did my research and looked up some great places to have brunch in Paris, picked my top and tried them all! – well….all….my list kept growing by time, so prepare yourselves for a future post filled with more goodness!

So, here are my most liked brunch cafés in Paris:

CAFÉ BERRY

This café kept popping up when googling for breakfast places, and after seeing all the comments and the first pictures, I was tempted to give this one a try! So, on a bright Saturday morning, I woke up, got ready and off to brunch I went!

There were many delicious options on the menu – I literally wanted to try them all! – but in the end I chose the badass toast with a coconut latte and a big chunk of carrot cake! – because let’s be real; what’s brunch without something sweet ;).

And to top it all off: Don’t worry by going there by yourself because the owners' dog got you covered! During my visit I was accompanied by the sweetest Shiba!! – he never left my side. – so, for customer service a 10/10!!

RÉPUBLIQUE OF COFFEE

At Place de la République, a breakfast and lunch café with meals from eggs, toasts, fruit bowls, pancakes to wraps, salads and sandwiches. Seriously something for everyone!!

After the arrival of my sister – who came to visit me for a weekend – both hungry and fancying some lovely food to start off our adventure weekend in Paris, time for brunch at République of coffee! Originally looking for a place with some good coffee, ending up here, we both took a cappuccino. Next, my sister went for the avocado toast, as I chose the chia pudding and together we shared the banana bread muffin.

NEIGHBOURS

A small café at the border of the neighborhood Le Marais serving Australian breakfast and lunch, cakes and specialty coffee. – No idea what to expect by an “Australian brunch” I was once more curious to give it a go!

On the menu: a variety of savory meals serving “crumpets” with salmon, avocado, poached eggs and many more. The sweet menu at the counter offering various options of freshly baked goods like cookies, cakes and pastries.

Intrigued by the crumpets – having no clue what it could be – ordering the ones with avocado and a poached egg. For drinks some coffee and as a side; the toasted banana bread with espresso butter!!

Everything was yet again delicious! Totally loved the crumpets and I was very surprised by the toasted banana bread in combination with the subtle espresso-taste of the melted butter – from now on, I only want my banana bread toasted ;P.

CAFÉ MARLETTE

Fancying a more classic French brunch, Marlette is the place to be! A café-boutique with 4 locations in Paris, all with a cozy and laid-back atmosphere where you can spend hours enjoying the fresh and bio meals, pastries and drinks.

A simple oeuf à la coque with a bread basket accompanied with some homemade jam & butter and some ham and cheese and you are good to go! Also serving a good avocado on toast, a yummy yoghurt bowl topped with their house granola and fresh fruit salad and the best scones I’ve had so far! – Well, what can I say, Brits you better step up your scone-game.

One of the amazing things of Marlette is that after your tasting you can buy their products! They have different packages containing all the ingredients to bake at home a brunch à la Marlette – of course I bought the scones package, and they were yet again great!!

PEONIES

Is it a coffee shop, is it a flower shop… it’s both!! When stumbling on this café, I immediately fell in love with the design and retro atmosphere of the place. A feeling of softness and light reigns through the shop. Besides the looks, let’s talk about the concept and of course the FOOD! What better way to start of your day, grabbing a cup of coffee or a nice breakfast surrounded by fresh bouquets of beautiful flowers. – you will even find some flowers on your plate!

Next, on our table: a gorgeous decorated avocado on toast, a bowl of yoghurt with homemade granola and freshly cut fruit, and to share – the actual reason I wanted to eat here one day ;P – the famous matcha pancakes with clotted cream, fruit and maple syrup… – they taste just as HEAVENLY as they look!!

FOUGÈRE CAFÉ

When the warm weather hits, I like to have an acai bowl for breakfast. The fresh and chilling taste of all the different fruits, it’s like eating an ice cream!

So, when I discovered Fougère café on my hunt for an acai bowl, claiming to serve the BEST ones in all of Paris, I could not resist the temptation and went out the next morning.

Just one block away from the luxurious store “le bon Marché", in a cozy street filled with charming shops, restaurants and cafés, you’ll find the sweet-looking Fougére. The decoration using only soft and light colors really gives the place a fresh and relaxing atmosphere, where you can happily brunch away!

Of course, I had THE acai bowl – the whole reason of my visit! – to drink; a chilling iced latte and my something sweet was my latest obsession: toasted banana bread!!

FRAGMENTS

And last, but certainly not least, the quintessential place for toast with avocado, strong coffee and fresh out-of-the-oven cinnamon buns – at least, according to the many comments and pictures scrolling through the internet – lays just on the border of le Marais. A small and narrow café, situated in an old Parisian house, decorated with retro-style furniture really gives you that hipster kind of look and feel whilst wallowing in your breakfast.

Like I said, the comments online were raving on certain dishes, and me as an avocado-on-toast-enthusiast, coffee lover and cinnamon addict, I had to put this to the test!

Well, my verdict: … AMAZING! I absolutely fell in love with this place! – I went back a couple of times and even had my birthday-brunch there :D

PS: the carrot cake, equally as delicious and recommended!!

Score: 10/10

76 Rue des Tournelles, 75003 Paris, France

Well, that’s my personal guide to brunch well in Paris! Hope you enjoyed it and if you ever try one let me know what you thought of them! – I would love to read your opinions!!

See you in my next post!!

Liefs
